So the photo is me and jay Gasper from a Grovecaster show in ‘93 or ‘94. The stuff below is some stuff I found on my old I Thought I Would Never leave Blog that i thought was pretty funny, and worth reprinting.

SENSITIVITY.
I just got back from a night of guest speaking at a cultural sensitivity class. It was a little rough. Some heckler in the audience called me a nigger and a halfrican—then he called me a chink and I realized just how fucked up the people at those classes are. At the end of my speech I did a flip off the piano to show them all that people of mixed race can do anything pure bloods can. They all seemed pretty impressed and several of them asked me for a dance. I had to tell them no. They were seriously fucked.
On the subject of cultural sensitivity, here is an old interview with me I dug up.
This interview was printed as the “last page interview” in MONDO magazine, November-December 2002 (volume 13, issue 1).
Q: What first attracted you to the audio industry?
A: I guess it was the sounds.
Q: Jason, what does your group Clean Ocean Action do?
A: Well, we have all sorts of crazy adventures in the outback and beyond.
Q: What was the first product you produced, and how has the technology developed since then?
A: The first was the sword. As far as the technology, it’d gotten better. The swords have gotten much longer.
Q: I recently spotted your name in an article from the “Ledger” about the plight of the Horseshoe Crab in New Jersey. I thought this topic was fascinating and I would like you to tell me about them. I thought the trouble started in the last ten years, but you said we need to go back to a time much earlier to understand.
A: That’s right, you must go back to the time before humans, when even the mighty dino-bots didn’t give a shit about crabs, horseshoe or otherwise.
Q: You have a reputation as something of a maverick. Is this fair?
A: Well, that depends, if you mean maverick as in I had sex with Madonna, no. Unfortunately, that’s not true. I have no idea where that rumor started.
Q: How did you become a Marine Biologist?
A: Just a fluke.
Q: Who would you consider the biggest influence on your professional career
A: Madonna.
Q: How would you like your epitaph to read?
A: The bitch had a problem cuz she thought she was so sophisticated.
Thank you Jason, for all your efforts to improve and conserve wildlife in New Jersey.
